Marina: Port Solent
This week, Port Solent's first Versadock Berth Holder, Bradley Malloy tells us why he opted for our new Versadock berthing service.
Premier
Marinas Port Solent has recently introduced a brand new 'Versadock' berthing
option for boats up to 6.5 metres in length giving RIB and Sports Boat owners a
convenient alternative to keeping their boats in the water - and at a price
that represents excellent value for money.
Versadock is a boat storage option that combines 'out of water storage' with
the flexibility of marina berthing. This new berthing service was introduced at
Port Solent in March 2012 and has provided a raft of benefits to one ski boat
owner in particular who has been kind enough to take the time to share his
comments and experiences on the new service.
Mr Bradley
Malloy, owner of "Regal 19" said, "Initially, my partner and I considered dry
stacking our boat at Gosport Marina because I liked the idea of easy
maintenance. Being new to boating we decided to visit a number of marinas
before making our decision. We visited Port Solent and instantly liked the
atmosphere - it has a really nice feeling about it."
He added, "Graeme (the Assistant Manager at Port Solent Marina) was really
helpful and gave us a good overview of Versadocking. For me it seemed like the
best of both worlds as it combined the benefits of dry stacking with the ease
of being able get on to the water quickly and easily. There's no need to
antifoul the boat which cuts down maintenance costs but I can easily access the
boat to give it a clean down and polish when it needs it."
When asked about the benefits of berthing at Port
Solent Marina, Mr Malloy said, "The bars and restaurants are great and the
marina's toilet and shower facilities are fantastic - my partner really likes
them because they're always clean.
And when asked about his favourite cruising grounds, Mr Malloy said, "Despite
the poor weather I have used my boat four or five times since March - my family
and I like to cruise to the Isle of Wight and back and will often take the
kids wakeboarding or to a local beach for a picnic.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Malloy for his time and
comments.
