Marina: Sovereign Harbour
A convoy of lifeboats from East Sussex met a new £2.7m vessel on its arrival at Eastbourne where it is to be stationed.
There
are currently five classes of all-weather lifeboat in the RNLI fleet including Tamar,
Severn, Trent, Tyne and Mersey. The Tamar-class lifeboat is the RNLI's latest class.
It was named the 'Diamond Jubilee' in honour of the Queen, who is a patron of
the RNLI.
The vessel took part in the Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant and was launched
into operational services on 22nd June.
Hundreds of people including Berth Holders and
local residents came to the marina on 29th May to celebrate the
arrival of the new lifeboat at Eastbourne. Like us on Facebook to view the
