CHARITY CROSS SOLENT SWIM NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that a Charity Cross Solent Swim in aid of the Red and White Appeal will take place on 05 August 2012.

Four swimmers will be taking part in the event and will be closely followed by two launches and four Kayaks. A listening watch on VHF Ch 12 and Ch11 will be maintained throughout the swim. Call sign "Choose Design Rib".

The proposed route of the swim is from Ryde Sands to Stokes Bay via North Sturbridge Buoy. The swim is expected to start at 0600 and to complete by 0830. On completion of the swim the four Kayaks will return to Ryde Sands.

"Choose Design Rib "will be acting as the Mother Craft and will display the International Code Flag 'ALPHA' whilst escorting the swimmers.

Mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmers and the support craft during the crossing of the Solent.
