Sensitive to the need to preserve the character of the marina, Chichester's new boatyard will reflect not only the architecture of the existing marina buildings but will also blend into the marina's natural surroundings. Like all good design, beauty runs in tandem with function; the aim of the new boatyard is to offer a larger, more modern, and fit for purpose complex that will serve Premier's customers and tenants better than the existing boatyard which was built in the 1960's.
Boatyard services for winter 2012 will not be affected by the development
With an expected opening date in spring 2013, work on clearing the site to make way for the new boatyard buildings is underway. Boatyard services will not be affected and marine services tenants have already been relocated on the marina to ensure that the marina can continue to deliver services throughout the winter without inconvenience to customers.
At the heart of the new boatyard will be a new Premier boatshed that will serve both Premier's berth holders, visiting yachtsmen and tenants. The new boatyard buildings will house a flexible mix of retail space and small-scale workshops that will provide a range of complimentary marine services.
The internal arrangements of the buildings are also designed for maximum flexibility and will lend themselves to the needs of a variety of businesses. Besides standard amenities Premier is offering tenants a full programme of marketing support and it is this support that has helped to secure reservations for almost all the new units on offer.
