On 17th-18th July 2010 the UK Formula Future Offshore Race Club bought round 4 of the RYA National Championship to Sovereign Harbour and the Eastbourne Extreme Festival.

Four classes of offshore powerboats competed in extreme conditions to take home the highly acclaimed trophy. 18 vessels were launched, allowing them to take part in the weekend's race as part of their scheduled race calendar.

The first day of the event saw winds gusting to above 30mph meaning the race had to be called off. This did not discourage the drivers and co-drivers who took their polished boats up to the stand on the seafront to join in with the festival spirit and talk to the public about their love of powerboat racing.

Sunday saw a reduced wind which meant that the fleet could race safely. UKFFORC have both junior and adult classes with the youngest competitors starting at just 10 years old. The junior F400 and S250 fleets completed their parade lap and practice lap but the decision was made to postpone the race as the wind and waves were on the limit.

The adults later took to the seas for what turned out to be a thrilling race with places changing several times. After a short re-fuelling break the juniors took to the water again with an ongoing battle in the F400 class between F22 and F14.

The day ended with a prize giving ceremony where Sovereign Harbour's Marina Manager, Janet Taylor presented the race winners with their trophies at the Waterfront.
