With a green light being given to the City Council's Portsmouth Plan, Port Solent's owners, Premier Marinas and CBRE Global Investors, have welcomed the opportunity to revitalise Port Solent's facilities both in the marina and onshore.

Premier Marinas and CBRE Global Investors had prepared an outline strategic plan for Port Solent for inclusion in the City Council's Core Strategy Development Plan.  The plan for Port Solent includes the modernisation of the marina facilities and boatyard and the enhancement of the Boardwalk area and with new homes and car parking to the south of the site.

Premier's Chief Executive, Rupert Boissier commented "We are excited to be given the chance to revitalise Port Solent by improving, modernising, enhancing and expanding Port Solent's facilities for our berth holders, local residents and visitors. Now that we have a clear steer from Portsmouth City Council on the sort of modernisation and development required, we can start to plan in greater detail and in further consultation with our berth holders and the local community."

"We are incredibly proud of Port Solent, and we are mindful to protect what is valued by our berth holders, but we also need to invest in Port Solent to modernise it and to secure Port Solent's commercial future," said Mr Boissier. "In the months ahead, we will be consulting with all Port Solent's communities as well as the relevant statutory bodies ahead of submitting detailed proposals to the Council for consideration."
