Gosport Marina Boat Yard
Terms and Conditions
- There are no guarantees of lifting due to weather conditions, mechanical breakdown or circumstances beyond the marinas control, no liability is accepted for any delays.
- Owners are responsible for ensuring that the vessels lifting points are clearly marked on the vessel prior to being lifted.
- A set of keys must be left at the marina office and the vessel made ready in all respects for lifting prior to the lifting commencing. Any vessel not ready will not be lifted, and delays caused by the owner that affect the timing of either the lifting or re-launch operations will incur an additional cost to the owner.
- Halyards must not be removed as they are required for use as temporary backstays during lifting, transportation and re-launch operation. If removed the vessel will not be lifted.
- All sails, dodgers and canopies must be removed from the vessel prior to lifting as these cause problems during high winds.
- Owners are advised to ensure that engines and plumbing systems are fully protected against the possibility of frost. The company cannot be held responsible for any damage arising from unprotected systems over the lay up period.
- Although frequent checks of blocking/shoring arrangements are made, all vessels are stored at the owners risk. We will not be held responsible for any damage resulting from adjustments to blocking/shoring arrangements made by any persons other than those employed by the company. Under no circumstances are owners to move or interfere with shores or cradle legs.
- Any vessel found to have inadequate watertight integrity or deemed to be un-seaworthy on re-launch will be re-lifted, blocked off and held ashore until repairs can be made. This service will be at the owners cost.
- All owners are asked to remove their permanent warps from the berth as these can often go missing, please ensure adequate warps and fenders are provided for movement of the vessel.
- Owners are advised to remove valuables from their vessel as Premier Marinas will not accept liability for loss or damage whilst the vessel is ashore.
- Owners of racing, deep drafted, light displacement or non production boats must declare any necessary information specific to their vessel with regards to the shoring and lifting of the vessel.
- It is recommended that masts be removed as masts left stepped during storage do vibrate and cause movement in cradles and shoring. However unless requested all vessels will be stored with the mast stepped, Gosport Marina do not provide this service.
