Information for Marina Visitors
Southsea Marina is situated on Langstone Harbour and offers a relaxed and friendly haven in which boating enthusiasts can escape the pressure's of everyday life. It's the perfect hideaway from the busy Portsmouth cruising waters and an ideal place in which to sit back and enjoy the ambience of the Harbour.
On rainy days, there's a unique range of shops and boutiques to visit in Southsea and an aquarium and the pyramids leisure pool on the Seafront. Further away is Gunwharf Quays with its shops, entertainment and the Spinnaker Tower is well worth a visit.
Walks around Southsea Marina
Southsea shopping centre is a bracing walk along the seafront or alternatively on Hayling Island there are some lovely walks.
Hayling Island
- Take the ferry to Hayling Island and walk along Sinah Common with its sand dunes to East Stoke. Along the way you will pass a lake which is home to plenty of bird life. Fishing licences are available from the local post office.
- The well known Hayling Billy steam train trail follows the route of the old train to the north of the Island. Go along Ferry Road and turn into Station Avenue which takes you to Station Theatre, marking the start of the trail. It is about a 10 Kilometre walk there and back.
Southsea
- On the Southsea side there is a small swimming pool off Eastney Esplanade
- The Royal Marines Museum a short walk away
- And Canoe Lake offers pedaloes for hire
- South Parade Pier with amusements,
- Southsea Castle,
- Blue Reef Aquarium,
- D-Day Museum,
- Pyramids swimming centre,
- Clarence Pier funfair,
- and then onto Old Portsmouth and Gunwharf.
