There is a lot to look forward to this winter at Eastbourne Marina, with the Berth Holders' Association and Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club providing a plethora of workshops, talks and socials supported by Premier Marinas. See below for a full list of events happening at Eastbourne Marina.
Thursday 25th October 2018 - Sail Care & Repair Talk
A 90 minute talk hosted by Nickys Canvasworks at Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club. The information evening will cover different types of material, sail construction, repair methods to help you get home, plus examples. Beginning at 20.00, the talk will also include a Q&A session. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening and the team at Nicky's Canvasworks will be offering a special price on sail repair kits. Free entry for SHYC and SHBHA members.
Saturday 3rd November - Guy Fawkes Social Meet
Catch up with fellow boat owners at the SHBHA Guy Fawkes social. Held on the veranda in the West Harbour, enjoy a cocktail on arrival and a delicious chilli con-carne with rice and toffee apples to finish. Please bring your own chairs and your favourite tipple to keep warm by the fire pit. Free to members, non-members £10 per couple, which includes 1 year membership. To book email email@example.com. Saturday 24th November - RNLI Hamper Hand Over Coffee Morning
Established in 1822, Eastbourne Lifeboat Station is located in Sovereign Harbour. A chance to give a little back to the crew and volunteers - the coffee morning will include a presentation of a hamper to the RNLI team and the opportunity to purchase Christmas cards with all proceeds going to the charity.
Saturday 12th January – Rope Care & Splicing Workshop
Get up to speed on rope care and the different types with the help of Nickys Chandlery. On Saturday 12th January they will be holding a Rope Care and Splicing workshop in conjunction with SHBHA at The Haven School, Atlantic Drive, Eastbourne
, from 0900 – 1300. As well as hosting a small talk on types of ropes available and applications, there will be a Q&A session to ask about anything not covered. Followed by a 3 strand rope splicing workshop where attendees will learn how to eye and back splice.
Practice rope and equipment will be provided for the course, books, splicing kits & rope will be available to either pre order or purchase on the day at discounted prices. Bookings need to be made with SHBHA by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
