Lock Shutdown Complete at Port Solent Marina
The Lock Shutdown at Port Solent Marina was completed in February 2018. Throughout the works, the lock was drained, both top and bottom bearings on the north gate have been replaced, the runners have been cleaned and the seals replaced and the gates painted.
The works, carried out by the Premier maintenance team, Port Solent maintenance and expert external contractors, represent an investment of £150,000. The team carry out this essential maintenance every 1-2 years in order to prevent lock failure.
Following on from this Lock Shutdown, Premier will be replacing the north side pontoon in the lock. The works are scheduled to be carried out in April and they will not require full lock shut down, but might cause slight delays in operation. More details about this pontoon replacement will be outlined closer to the time.
