Channel Dredging Commences at Eastbourne Marina
Annual maintenance dredging of the entrance channel to Eastbourne Marina officially commenced on Wednesday 16th May.
The pre-dredge survey highlights the average build-up within the channel, suggesting the dredging campaign will last around ten days. As in previous years, the Sospan Dau (Dredger) will be contactable by VHF Ch.17 throughout the dredging campaign.
This year, Eastbourne Marina’s licence has been varied to extend the dredge area wider to seaward past the breakwaters. Please feel free to contact the Lock Keeper on Ch.17 during these dredging works should you have any concerns about when and how to pass the dredger. The image above of the pre-dredge survey highlights the current entrance condition at the South Coast marina.
