Premier Marinas Gains ISO 14001:2015 Accreditation
Premier Marinas is proud to announce it has received ISO 14001:2015 certification; an internationally recognised standard for running effective environmental management systems.
The first marina group to achieve this in the UK, this award is an affirmation of Premier Marinas’ hard work and dedication to managing its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner to enhance its environmental performance.
Alongside implementing a programme of routines that promote and practise environmental sustainability, Premier Marinas continues to invest in initiatives that can impact the environment in a positive way.
As an organisation Premier has installed solar panels at six of its marinas and is on track this year to generate 417 mwh of electricity and avoid 226 tons of CO2 emissions. Moreover, the group recycles all waste across every site, ensuring nothing goes to landfill and has replaced all of its building light bulbs with energy saving ones that include PIR motion sensors.
Premier is also conscious of the environment in its day-to-day practices, from reducing business mileage by having shared pool cars, to minimising noise pollution by installing white noise alarms on plant machinery and looking after marine wildlife by positioning Seabins in its marinas to collect rubbish and debris from the sea.
Pete Bradshaw, CEO said: “We are proud that Premier Marinas has obtained this certification. We have acted in an environmentally responsible way for many years and this accreditation demonstrates how seriously we undertake our environmental obligations as an organisation and it shows our dedication to consistently delivering safe and high-quality solutions in the marina industry in a manner that protects the environment”.
