Updated Locking Procedure
Premier would like to remind all berth holders of the lock protocol that was refined and re-issued last year. There are a series of lock workshops throughout spring and summer which we recommend all new berth holders attend, as well as existing customers who would just like to refresh their knowledge, for more information on these click here.
One important action to embed into your lock routine is to ensure that you call Chichester Marina with your call sign over VHF and request a lock out. The lock keeper will then either ask you to proceed directly to the lock or you will receive a queue number and ask you to stand by on your berth if queuing is in operation. It is vital that you maintain a listening watch on Ch80 to avoid missing your lock slot.
The Chichester Marina lock also had pre-emptive maintenance carried out earlier in the year to ensure that the lock is in good working order for the new season. This work included various electrical works and refurbed the motors and gears on every lock gate amongst other updates.
