Grandads of the Atlantic
After spending 63 days at sea and rowing a mammoth 2786 nautical miles, the Grandads arrived in English Harbour in Antigua as World Record holders, becoming the oldest pair to row across the Atlantic having a combined age of 123! Not only did they battle the elements, with heavy storms which were trying their best to deter Grandads Neil and Peter, but they were also battling technology, with damage to their Autohelm drastically affecting their steering on the crossing.
The Grandads trained and fitted their boat out at Port Solent Marina, so we are absolutely delighted that they have managed to complete the crossing in one piece, and are incredibly proud to have supported them through all their efforts in raising over £30,000 so far for their chosen charities; Royal British Legion Industries, Dreams Come True and Support Our Paras.
It is not too late to donate to these great causes and for this extraordinary challenge that they embarked upon, so please show your support and visit their Virgin Money Giving page here
