Upgraded Navigation Lights
The Sovereign Harbour Marina maintenance team has been busy upgrading the navigation lights in the channel at the entrance/exit of the marina. Berth holders may have been aware of issues affecting some of the navigation lights, having seen recent local notices to mariners which detailed the reliability problems of the lights on the buoys.
Following these issues, Sovereign Harbour decided to upgrade the underperforming lights in order to improve the overall reliability, which should hopefully reassure berth holders when entering or exiting the marina in the dark.
Daniel Heckford, Marina Manager of Eastbourne Marina, said of the works: “February has been busy for the maintenance team, having upgraded a number of navigation lights on the outer buoys to address reliability issues and damage from recent rough weather whilst at the same time as preparing for upcoming works to the lock as well.”
