Sovereign Shines 2018 Round-Up
Sovereign Harbour hosted its third ‘Sovereign Shines’ in December 2018 to help raise funds for Eastbourne lifeboat and to shine a light on the wonderful things going on at ‘The Waterfront’.
This year saw 30 boats and 35 residential properties sign up to the event; going up against one another to create the biggest of light spectacles. Prizes were awarded to the best Christmas lights both on boats and residential properties around the harbour. These prizes – organised by the Sovereign Harbour Berth Holder’s Association (SHBHA) – were donated by The Waterfront’s onsite tenants, Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club, SHBHA and Premier, with the winners announced at a presentation evening on Saturday 15th December.
Members of the Premier team were in attendance, providing mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies to berth holders, friends and family who braved the elements! Father Christmas also made an appearance and attendees were treated to live music on both Friday and Saturday, including a choir performance from the children who attend the West Rise Junior School.
Eastbourne Marina Manager, Daniel Heckford said: “On behalf of the organising committee, I would like to thank everyone who took part in Sovereign Shines this year. The weather may have been against us on the presentation evening, but despite that we had more boats and properties taking part this year. The prizes donated were incredibly generous. Some residential prizes are yet to be issued, so please contact the Marina Reception to check if you are one of the winners!.”
This year Sovereign Shines raised over £288 for Eastbourne Lifeboats. Premier would like to say a massive thank you to all those involved this year and to all who attended what was a fantastic festive fundraiser.
