Dredging Works set to resume at Port Solent
The annual dredging programme at Port Solent is set to resume next week following a short break.
ML Dredging began dredging works at the beginning of March but paused in response to the start of the COVID-19 outbreak across the country.
Premier Marinas has now instructed them to recommence dredging works, with the intention of removing 6000m3 of silt and mud from the channel. The staff at the marina and ML Dredging will continue to work whilst complying with the social distancing guidelines set out by the Government.
Richard Whillier, Duty Manager said: “We hope to have the dredging works completed by the time our berth holders are able to return to the marina and out on their boats. In the meantime, we are here to be of service and will continue to carry out maintenance projects at the marina to maintain the high standards at Premier Port Solent.
