Premier On Track For Continuing ISO 14001 Certification
Premier Marinas is delighted to announce it has achieved continuing certification for ISO 14001 – the International Organisation for Standardisation – Environmental Management.
This group certification required a series of audits to be conducted by the certification body The British Standards Institute (BSI), which were completed throughout June, July and August 2020 at Southsea, Noss on Dart and Falmouth Marinas and the group’s Head Office at Swanwick. The audits were successful and Premier has been recommended for retention of its certification to ISO 14001, having been the first marina group to gain ISO 14001:2015 certification in 2018.
The certification applies to all staff at Premier, from the Marinas through to Head Office and demonstrates the company’s commitment to implementing and following an environmental management system to improve its environmental footprint and responsibilities. As part of this commitment to continually improve waste management and recycling onsite, Premier Marinas signed a new contract with Veolia in June 2020 to encourage and aid more recycling across the company’s nine sites.
Leo Leeman, Premier’s HSE Manager, said: “ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. Having this certification demonstrates Premier’s environmental performance and commitment to a more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, giving us a competitive advantage and building the trust of our stakeholders and berth holders.”
