Phase One of Fisherman's Quay Complete

We are pleased to announce that Quay Fisheries Fishmonger & Smokery is now open at Sovereign Harbour.
A retail unit selling fresh fish and shellfish caught by the Eastbourne fishing fleet. This is Phase 1 of a three part project that will create a new quay area at the marina, which will be a vibrant, multi-purpose destination that combines a sustainable local fishing industry with a heritage visitor destination.
Spearheaded by the Eastbourne Fisherman’s under 10 Community Interest Company, which was set up in 2013 by the local fishing fleet, lease terms were agreed with Premier Marinas to enable them to carry out this visionary redevelopment project.
Along with the daily catch, Quay Fisheries has its own in house smokery which offers local smoked fish such as mackerel, as well as premium hot and cold salmon farmed by Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands.
Lucy Doswell, General Manager explains further: “We’re open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 3pm at present and are looking to expand our services to include a click and collect service and supply local restaurants in the not too distant future.”
On December 4th the team are hosting a pre-Christmas Open Day from 12pm – 5pm, which anyone is welcome to join and will give customers the chance to order luxury fish boxes for Christmas (which will include items such as in house smoked salmon, dressed crab, lobster and pates) shop from the wet fish counter and deli - plus meet the team and try some samples along with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. There will be music and a raffle with some great prizes on offer (kindly donated by local businesses) and proceeds will going to Eastbourne RNLI.
