Opportunities At Falmouth

We’ve got a rare opportunity to join the Falmouth Marina team, as a Night Marina Operative. You’ll be learning from the best and joining an established team of two other night marina operatives, Robert  Balcomb and Paul Wilson, who have both worked at the marina for over 20 years.

Falmouth Marina is conveniently located in the sheltered waters of the beautiful Fal Estuary, with excellent transportation links and you'll be joining a close-knit marina team that strives to deliver the highest levels of customer service. Mark Evans, Marina Manager at Falmouth, has been with the company for almost 25 years, starting out as a summer seasonal staff member. Mark Dash and Elliot Homan, Duty Managers, have a combined 40 years of experience at the marina, while Mel Armstrong and Alison Marks, who run the busy office have a combined 50 years of expertise.

The full team also includes five highly experienced Marina and Boatyard Operatives Stuart, Sam, Martin, Adam and Steven, who are passionate about being out on the water, enjoying outdoor pursuits and family life. Candidates with demonstrated customer service expertise, a "can-do" attitude, and the ability to work independently whilst complementing Robert and Paul are sought by the team. Boat handling experience would be desirable, but it is not required. Robert has extensive experience working in many marine related jobs at sea and Paul came to Falmouth Marina in 1998 after 24 years’ service in the Navy as a lead aircraft handler land based at Culdrose but also aboard HMS Invincible.

Marina Manager, Mark Evans. “We are incredibly fortunate to have employees who have been with us for over twenty years. We offer a fantastic work environment in a beautiful setting, as well as opportunities to train in the role. The night team play a vital part at the marina, taking over from the day staff at 7pm and handing back at 7am, covering 365 nights of the year. Their primary function is the security and safe-guarding of the marina, however their role is varied and customer-facing, as they greet visiting boats, undertake various administrative tasks overnight as well as monitoring the marina closely during storms and watching over the site and pontoons. We are looking for an all-rounder, who will get stuck in with the rest of the team and is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service.”

The role will involve working 12-hour night shifts as per the duty rota which includes some weekends and Bank/Public holidays. The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary, Private Medical Cover and access to an Online GP service 7 days a week along with a range of other benefits. For more information click here.
