Endeavour Quay welcomes a new Manager to the Helm

Gosport Marina is delighted to welcome Matthew Leigh back to the team and taking the helm as Boatyard Manager at Endeavour Quay.

With over twenty years’ experience within the marine industry, Matthew began his career on the inland waterways in Tewkesbury Marina, Gloucester where he managed the day to day running of the site and gained his Yacht Broker, Designers and Surveyors Association (YBDSA) brokers qualification whilst running a small brokerage.

A move to Southampton to take on the role of Supervisor at Shamrock Quay quickly introduced him to south coast boating and a few years later he progressed to experience running a commercial boatyard and managing many big lifts - most notably the J class Yacht Velsheda.

Other career achievements have included setting up a successful boatyard in the Hamble River and managing Hythe Marina Village. Matthew joined Premier Marinas in 2018 and has worked as Duty Manager at both Chichester Marina and Endeavour Quay. He is excited about returning to this renowned boat yard as the manager.

“This is a really great opportunity to come back to Endeavour Quay and lead a highly-motivated team within the yard and work on projects to lift some of the biggest leisure vessels in the UK,” says Matthew. “I’m looking forward to working with all the great tenants we have onsite here. I’m sure with my experience and enthusiasm I can help propel this site to be one of the country’s best boatyards.”

We wish Matthew the best of luck in his new role at Premier and also send our best wishes to Tim Newell as he leaves Premier to take on his new adventure. We also want to welcome new marine tenants, Apex Marine to the Endeavour Quay community – find out more about them here.
