Investment at Southsea Marina - Static Boom Crane Fitted
Premier Marinas is pleased to announce the installation of a new static boom crane at Southsea Marina.
The new crane has been fitted to ensure reliability and continuity at Southsea Marina as the existing mobile crane was nearing the end of its useful life.
Premier Marinas has invested £65,000 in this essential crane, which will provide a permanent and reliable mechanism by which to deploy the emergency stop logs in the event of a cill gate failure, providing extra security and safety.
Marina Manager, Andrew Collumbell, is delighted that the crane is now in place: “I for one will sleep sounder for knowing there is a dedicated piece of bespoke equipment in place in the event of a tidal cill gate failure.”
The crane was made in the UK by Wise Handling, who make all of Premier’s boat hoists – it is not yet commissioned for use, but will be in action by the end of March.
