In an emergency
Do not try to tackle the incident yourself - unless you are appropriately trained for the incident at hand - and it is safe to do so
In the event of an evacuation leave immediately and head for the nearest Fire Assembly Point. If the route is blocked, make your way to the nearest Water Evacuation Point
Follow all instructions given by marina staff, security and the emergency services.
General safety advice
First aid is available from the Marina Reception 24 hours a day
Locate and familiarise yourself with the positions of the marina safety boxes – you will find them on the pontoons. Nearby you will find emergency ladders.
Report all accidents and potential hazards to the Marina Reception immediately
Use rescue equipment only in the event of an emergency – advise the Marina Reception if you use any of the equipment. Misuse of this equipment may have life-threatening ramifications for future users
Keep the pontoons clear of materials, tenders etc.
Do not allow your vessel’s anchors and davits to overhang walkways
While you are in the marina keep your vessel speed to less than 5 knots – do not create wash
Do not ride, or allow children to ride in the marina trolleys
Children should wear suitable lifejackets and be supervised when near the water
In wet or icy weather watch out for slippery pontoons
It is strictly forbidden to swim, fish or scuba dive in the marina
Keep clear of vessels and machinery involved in lifting operations
Do not use bicycles, scooters or skateboards on the pontoons or jetties
Ensure that you use the correct size and quantity of mooring lines for your boat
Do not remove the supports from your vessel in the yard
Have electrical leads checked by a qualified person on a regular basis
Read the safety instructions on the electricity supply pod before connecting your boat to the supply
Do not sail or row boats in the marina
Advice on fire safety in the marina
Locate and note the position of Fire Assembly and Water Evacuation Points
At the Fuel Jetty: No smoking. Turn off mobile phones, VHF radios, engines and cooking appliances. Extinguish naked flames. Follow any instructions given by Premier staff
Do not use BBQs on boats, jetties or pontoons
Keep minimum stores of petrol, diesel and gas
Install a smoke alarm, test it regularly – fitting a smoke alarm is the simplest step you can take to reduce the risk of fire
Ensure all gas installations are in a sound condition and checked regularly by a qualified registered contractor
Make sure your gas bottle (LPG) is secured and kept away from heat sources
Check that your fire extinguishers and fire blanket are serviceable
Always isolate fuel and gas on leaving your vessel
Check electrical heaters, dehumidifiers and 240v equipment on leaving your vessel
