Seasonal Marina Operatives - Premier Marinas

Looking to gain valuable work experience, or would you just like a part-time job with a bit more to it? A seasonal job with Premier may be for you. We’re currently looking for staff to work on a flexible basis between June-October – to include some weekends and evenings.

 

• Good rates of pay – including paid holiday

• Can dovetail well with education term times

• Variety of customer service based tasks in and outdoors.

• Boating experience an asset – but not necessary.

 

You will be working as part of a rota system including bank holidays, weekends and evenings. We are looking for individuals who want to work in a customer facing role, who are flexible, willing to learn and want to deliver excellent customer service.

Seasonal Customer Service Advisor - Chichester Marina 

The position for a zero hour ‘Customer Service Advisor’ has become available at Premier Marinas’ Chichester Marina. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual, with a flexible work ethic, to join a fast paced team on a busy marina in a great location within Chichester Harbour.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to understand and deliver excellent customer service
  • A good understanding of enquiry and sales handling
  • Work under pressure as part of a team and individually
  • Flexible hours
  • Ability to learn and use computer software systems
  • “A can do” attitude and flexible approach to team work

Although this role will be primarily office based it will also include some outdoor working. The shift patterns will vary to meet the business demands and will include weekends and bank holidays during the busy summer months. Experience and a knowledge of boating would be beneficial but not essential as training, where required, will be given.

Dredge Master and Maintenance Operative - Brighton Marina

The position of ‘Dredge Master & Maintenance Operative’ has become available at Premier Marinas’ Brighton Marina. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual with a flexible work ethic to join our team. Working in an outdoor environment operating plant/dredger equipment, this role will involve maintenance of plant/equipment and working alongside our maintenance team as and when required.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to understand and deliver excellent customer service
  • Flexibility and adaptability to both dredging and maintenance operations
  • “A can do" attitude and flexible approach to team work

This role includes working outdoors in all weathers and will include some weekends and Bank Holidays. The role provides for working a 12 hour shift pattern on a 4 on 4 off rota.

Previous experience would be an advantage but training, where required, will be given.  A full diving license is essential.

The position of ‘Customer Service Advisor’ has become available at Premier Marinas Port Solent Marina.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

Boatyard Foreperson - Endeavour Quay, Gosport Marina

The position of ‘Boatyard Foreperson’ has become available at Premier Marinas’ Endeavour Quay. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual, with a flexible work ethic, to join a fast paced team in a busy boatyard in a great location within Portsmouth Harbour.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to be able to assist the management team to manage in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the company’s mission statement & H&S policies
  • Experience in planning and delivery of lifting operations, producing lift plans for one off and repeat business. Ability to communicate these plans with varying stake holders; team members, contractors, skippers and owners
  • To be able to manage the boatyard bookings according to available space and time within the schedule so as to maximise income
  • The ability to understand and deliver excellent customer service
  • The ability to learn and use computer software systems
  • “A can do” attitude and flexible approach to team work

 

This role is predominantly based outdoors working Monday to Friday however on occasions you may be required to work weekends and bank holidays.  A full clean UK driving licence is required.

Night Berthing Master - Gosport Marina

The position of Night Berthing Master has become available at Premier Marinas’ Gosport Marina. The successful candidate will be joining a dedicated team who work hard to provide the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following in order to qualify for consideration:

  • Proven customer service or customer facing experience
  • Must have a “can do” attitude
  • The ability to work alone but also as part of a team
  • Be able to stay calm under pressure
  • Be computer literate

The following would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Proven experience of boat handling
  • Local knowledge of Portsmouth Harbour sailing area and cruising grounds

You will be working 12 hour night shifts as per the duty rota which includes weekends, Bank/Public holidays. The successful candidate may be required to work at other local Premier Marinas’ sites.

Duty Manager – Gosport Marina

Premier Marinas’ Gosport Marina, a 5 Gold Anchor accredited marina, is seeking to appoint a full time Duty Manager.

The role of a Duty Manager is to:

  • Assist the Marina Manager to manage the site in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with the company’s mission statement
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer service and facilities are not only maintained but also developed as required by the company
  • Perform the role of ‘Duty Manager’ on an agreed rotation basis
  • Promote and maximise the utilisation within the marina, ensuring and developing profitability from all income streams
  • Develop staff progression and communicate business changes

The successful applicant should be an ambassador of first class customer service delivery, be able to lead a team and show balanced decision making and problem solving abilities. Health & Safety awareness and a knowledge of marina operations is desirable. The role requires some outside working assisting around the marina and boatyard.  

The role will require flexibility with varying start and finish times during busy periods and will include some weekend working and bank/public holidays as part of a shift rota. The Duty Manager role entails an ‘on call’ out of hour’s rota and the successful candidate must be able to attend the marina in the event of an emergency.
