At Premier Marinas we take security seriously which means that we rarely suffer from crime on our sites. Our first line of protection against crime is of course our marina team who remain vigilant throughout their duties, whose job is to look after our customers and visitors and who regularly walk our pontoons, facilities, car parks and boatyards to ensure that our marinas and the boats in them remain secure. From early evening onward our night teams are responsible for security and they too regularly patrol their marinas.
Security measures across Premier’s marinas vary in accord with the circumstances on the site but all our marinas are protected by high-definition CCTV surveillance that is installed at main focal and access points. The CCTV is monitored by staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and in the case of our Solent marinas CCTV is also simultaneously monitored by staff at a partnered site.
On the majority of sites access to pontoons is controlled by bridgehead gates that are operated by electronic key fob access systems. Marina facilities are also protected from unlicensed use and damage through a fob or pin code controlled system. A number of Premier marinas also have site and car parking barriers in place to control overall access to the site and to ensure that dedicated berth holder car parking is respected. Alongside Premier’s own security measures Premier is also committed to supporting Project Kraken - a joint coastal crime prevention initiative that’s delivered by the National Crime Agency, Border Force and Police. This initiative encourages close and regular liaison between our marinas and the local Police force who look to both Premier and its customers to report security issues or suspicious situations. If you are at a Premier marina and you experience any of the situations described below we ask that you report it immediately to either the marina team or call the local police on 101, or anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting 'Kraken'.
