There is fresh painting works along all dedicated pedestrian walkways and any danger areas around the marina, allowing all berth holders and visitors to navigate their way around the marina more safely.
Following an investment of £16,000, 34 new illuminated safety ladders were fitted across the marina in October 2020. Made of bright yellow fibreglass with an amber light on top, to provide a much more user-friendly experience, as well as increased visibility and illumination to help customers and staff locate and climb the ladders safely and efficiently in case of an emergency. Following this development, all of the street lights which illuminate the main walkway at Southsea Marina were replaced with new LED units to provide more efficient and reliable illumination around the marina, with the new lights also being more environmentally friendly.
Barriers are easily dispensed to cordon off boats on the hardstanding to discourage cars from parking too close to those boats stored ashore. This also helps with keeping the main thoroughfare free allowing the yard equipment to move around site safely and freely. In the winter please keep an eye out for specific parking areas as the hardstanding fills up with boats out for winter.
