As part of Boat Fire Safety Week (27th May - 2nd June), we have invited West Sussex Fire and Rescue to host a safety event at Chichester Marina.

Crew members and volunteers will be located outside the marina reception on Tuesday 28th May, offering fire safety guidance and advice including identifying potential risks, essential safety equipment and best practice, with a special focus on:

• Smoke alarms
• Carbon monoxide alarms
• Lithium ion batteries
• Fires on board

Our marina team regularly carries out training exercises for boat fire situations within the marina and we hope this event will provide additional guidance for boaters on what they can do to help prevent these potentially serious fire incidents.
