Port Solent's Plan to Welcome Bigger Boats

Port Solent Marina’s plans to revitalise the marina infrastructure to allow the marina to accommodate bigger boats by the 2018 season are well underway.

The project, representing a £480,000 investment, includes reconfiguring pontoons A-D to provide finger berthing for vessels up to 18m and Hammerhead berthing up to 33m. Additionally, this reconfiguration will provide the opportunity for wider fairways and the renewal of pontoons and walkways. Works are due to commence in February 2018 with an estimated completion in mid-April 2018.

During this time, affected vessels will be relocated. Premier aims to make this pontoon upgrade as convenient as possible for berth holders but nevertheless appreciates berth holders’ patience and support during this inevitable disruption.

Graham Bristowe, Port Solent Marina Manager, said: “As we push forwards with this project, we appreciate the flexibility and patience our existing berth-holders have shown and their support for the project as we make Port Solent Marina fit for the new demands of the modern berth-holder.’
