New Self Service Fuel Bay at Eastbourne Marina
The new self-serve fuel system at Sovereign Harbour Marina, Eastbourne, officially opened on 14th June for a month of assisted service.
This upgrade – an investment of £150,000 – has seen the replacement of the current dispensing pumps and operating software, giving customers the ability to pay-at-pump with a fully automated self-service system. The new system will enhance the berth holder experience and reduce waiting times in the Marina Reception whilst replacing old equipment at the South Coast marina.
As well as the fuel system upgrade, the area around the storage tanks have benefited from new drainage with the block paving lifted and levelled. Additionally, the new advanced system itself eliminates the potential of breakdown downtime.
Dan Heckford, Marina Manager, commented: “Maintaining fuel dispensers and underground storage tanks in a marine environment is essential to safeguarding against environmental impact. This recent upgrade gives Sovereign Harbour new dispensing pumps, pipework and enhanced leak detection systems. The new pumps and the pay-at-pump system will certainly streamline the experience of our customers in the busy periods. Over the next weeks we will be inducting berth holders on the use of the new system before we fully go live with self-service.”
