1st Sea School Now Servicing Lifejackets
Port Solent Marina tenants ‘1st Sea School’ are now servicing lifejackets. This is a service that no other onsite contractor offers, and is arguably one of the most important safety aspects on your boat, with a well-maintained lifejacket doubling your chances of survival and increasing the likelihood of being found in the water.
With boat safety being publicised more and more, this service is something that has been requested by Port Solent berth holders. Cliff Salway, Owner of 1st Sea School said: “We realised there was a lack of lifejacket servicing facilities in the area so now we can fully service a lifejacket for you”.
The service costs £15 per lifejacket plus any required parts, and 1st Sea School can collect the lifejacket from your boat or you can drop it off at their office (by prior arrangement). It can then be collected 3 days later (or sooner). Once the service has been completed, you will be provided with a worksheet and certificate.
During a lifejacket clinic held before the Round the Island Race last year, 75% of the lifejackets examined failed safety tests, so why not take your lifejacket along to get a service – you never know when you may need it!
