Noss on Dart Marina Regeneration Update

Date:

Work on the Noss on Dart Marina regeneration is progressing well with the woodland car park now finished for use, as is the access road from the entrance of the marina up to the railway bridge. The woodland car park includes a living wall, which is home to a variety of native plants, overtime these plants will help to blend the car park back into the natural environment.

The visibility splay at the entrance is also complete, and has made entering and exiting the marina much safer for vehicles.

The first demolition phase is reaching its final stages (some buildings are to remain in place until their replacements have been constructed) with Noss House, the Green Shed, the former Platers’ and Welders’ Shops and the residential houses at Longwood all having been removed. The Philips Building is scheduled for demolition in the spring, beginning with the gable end facing the river; this work follows the safe removal of the asbestos in the building.

Work on the new decked car park is also to commence in the spring followed by the commercial buildings in July 2019 and the new boatyard in October 2019. The new boatyard will have a 75-tonne hoist serving private, commercial and fishing craft and a dry stack for around 100 smaller vessels. Work on the renewal of the floating marina is scheduled to begin in winter 2019/20 and once completed will accommodate 232 berths.
