Just a short walk, opposite the marina you will find the the award-winning Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower with its interesting insights into naval warfare. Or if you feel like shopping, the Historic city of Portsmouth is just a short walk along the Gosport Waterfront Trail, which leads to a 10 minute ferry ride across the harbour, where you can find Gunwarf Quays.
A historic city on your doorstep
The city of Portsmouth offers a wide selection of attractions, including Gunwharf Quays, a designer shopping outlet that is home to a 12 screen cinema. Or if you're interested in history, the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is steeped in it, and offers a cruise around the harbour. Exploring the local area
Just across the water you can visit the Isle of Wight, from Portsmouth Harbour you can take a regular car ferry across, or further along from the Southsea beach front you can enjoy a memorable trip on the Hovercraft, that is if you're not cruising or sailing from the marina.
