We are looking for a skilled, practical and proactive Plant Mechanic / Electrical Engineer to join our friendly, hardworking team in Premier Marinas’ Maintenance Department.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on electrical fault-finding and diagnosis, alongside substantial mechanical maintenance and repair of heavy plant, lifting equipment and machinery across our sites.

You’ll help keep essential equipment safe, reliable and working efficiently, responding to breakdowns as well as carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of electrical fault-finding and repair, ideally on plant, machinery or similar equipment.
  • Strong practical mechanical skills, including experience with engines, hydraulic or pressure systems, and mechanical components.
  • Confidence using a range of hand-held power tools, including grinders.
  • Experience of risk assessments and safe operating procedures, particularly in an outdoor working environment.
  • A logical approach to troubleshooting, good communication skills and a focus on safe, effective repairs.

The role will involve routine servicing, preventative maintenance and responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns across Premier Marinas sites. Duties include fault-finding on motors, wiring, switches, sensors, control circuits, batteries and charging systems, alongside mechanical repairs to dry stack forklifts, tractors, boat hoists, engines, rams, hoses, transmissions and other plant machinery.

You’ll also work with marina teams and contractors, keep accurate maintenance records, and help improve equipment reliability and safety.

The role is based at our Head Office in Swanwick Marina and includes travel to sites across the South Coast. It involves outdoor working, with occasional nights away and weekend work as required.

Experience in the marine industry or with lifting equipment would be advantageous but is not essential. We’ll support you to grow your skills and reach your potential.
