Chichester Marina Boat Show Success

Chichester Marina recently played host to a successful ‘Boat Show and Watersports Festival’, building on last year’s inaugural event. The 2019 show, sponsored by Yachting Monthly, involved Chichester Marina’s tenants and onsite brokerages as well as a range of external exhibitors across the weekend of 27th and 28th April.

The boat show featured a flares disposal service, sponsored by Premier Marine Insurance in association with GJW Direct, which raised £815.56 for the RNLI; with many attendees coming from neighbouring Premier marinas to safely dispose of their old flares. The RNLI were also on hand, running a life-jacket clinic and conducting own boat checks whilst also hosting a talk in the ‘Meet the Experts’ tent. The talks were well attended and offered great insight into a range of different topics from sail care, cooking on your boat to a Gin cocktail demonstration from Brilliant Gin.

The on water and ashore boat displays included Chichester Marina tenants, Ancasta International Boat Sales, Blackrock Yachting and Network Yacht Brokers who were joined by a selection of external brokers exhibiting a selection of both sailing and motor yachts.

The watersports element of the show was provided by Aqua Living who had a range of watersports accessories and Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP Boards) whilst Fluid Adventures offered kayaking and canoeing experiences. Chichester Marina Duty Manager Chris Wood said, “Watersports offer people the opportunity to get out on the water without the costs of purchasing a boat, and is something that is soon set to be introduced to Chichester Marina.”
