East Sussex Falconry Flys to Move Starlings at Sovereign Harbour
In order to avoid the mess starlings and pigeons deposit on vessels, the marina has once again employed the services of East Sussex Falconry to naturally deter wild birds from roosting on the boats. Premier first trialled this method of bird control back in 2017 when the birds were encouraged away from the marina and toward green spaces and gardens. The falcons are fully fed when they fly and they do not harm or catch the birds, they simply remove them from the area. The reduction of birds roosting on vessels in the marina will help prevent damage and mess over the winter season.
