Brighton Marina Notice to Mariners No 13 of 2020


Dredging in the marina entrance channel and an area between pontoons 14 & 15 is due to commence on or after 10th June 2020. A spud leg backhoe dredger has a length of 22.5m and a beam of 9m. This will be working in conjunction with a hopper barge of upto 52m long and 9m in beam.

Both vessels are restricted in their ability to manoeuvre and will restrict width within the marina entrance channel and at times within the marina. These vessels will display day signals in accordance with International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 (COLREGS), Marine Safety Act and Marine Safety Regulations

All Starboard lateral markers in the entrance channel will be removed during the dredge operation. Mariners are advised to stay close to the Port lateral markers at all times.
