Dredging at Sovereign Harbour Entrance Channel
Date:
Tthe annual dredging programme at the Sovereign Harbour Entrance Channel has now begun.
The programme will remove approximately 50,000 cubic metres of silt to get the entrance channel depth back to 2.4m below chart datum. Dredger ‘Sospan Dau’ is in place to complete the works for approximately 11 days, subject to weather conditions.
Sospan Dau will be operating within the entrance channel and all buoyage will be removed to provide easier access to the area. Notice to Mariners no. 3 of 2023 has been issued advising of the removal of the buoyage. We encourage all berth holders to regularly check the Notice to Mariners page on our website and navigate the channel with caution.
