Dredging will commence at the lock entrance and approach channel to Port Solent Marina this week.
Our contractors ML Dredging have once again been instructed to complete the works, with the intention of removing silt and mud from the channel to a depth of 1.5m below chart datum and ensure a smooth passage for marina users.
The works will begin today and will take approximately three weeks, weather dependent.
The planned dredging works will start at the lock entrance and work outwards to the approach channel. Berth holders are advised to call up VHF channel 80 before leaving your berth or at the calling point to lock in and to take caution when exiting the lock as access may be restricted during this time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we carry out these important works. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the marina reception.
Port Solent planned lock closure
In preparation of the busy boating season, the lock at Port Solent Marina will be closed as part of our 3-yearly lock maintenance programme.
