HM Coastguard have confirmed that a number of 40ft shipping containers went into the sea at the Nab anchorage East of the Isle of Wight.
Containers have been observed floating in the channel between Selsey and Eastbourne with confirmed sightings at Selsey, Littlehampton, Rottingdean, Seaford and Eastbourne. The latest update confirms a number of contains and floating debris off of Beachy Head with some washing up on local beaches.
All mariners are advised to keep a good lookout, and report sightings to HM Coastguard on VHF Ch16. Navigation warnings are being broadcast by HM Coastguard every 90 minutes
