Brighton Marina team reaching new heights for charity!

We are proud to announce that four of the Brighton Marina team – Robert Munns, Yaara Gidoni, Hamish McTrusty and Hugo Richmond - are taking on an exciting challenge for charity this summer.

Together, they’ll abseil down Portsmouth’s iconic Spinnaker Tower to raise funds and awareness for Oceans of Hope UK - a sailing charity that supports individuals living with multiple sclerosis (MS), helping them regain confidence, connection, and a sense of adventure through shared sailing experiences. This is a wonderful opportunity to support both our colleagues and a great cause close to many hearts within Premier Marinas.

If you’d like to show your support, you can donate via their fundraising page or simply send words of encouragement to the team as they prepare for this daring descent

Taking on new responsibilities

We are delighted to share the news that Henry Nicholls is taking on a new challenge, stepping up into Relief Marina Operative. Henry joined the Brighton team in September 2025 as a Customer Service Advisor and is looking forward to taking on more responsibility with marina berthing, boatyard operations and onsite maintenance as well as stepping up to cover members of the team on leave across 12-hour day and night shifts. In preparation for his new responsibilities, Henry has completed his Abrasive Wheels qualification.

We are also proud to announce Alex Bremer has been promoted to Senior Marina Operative. Alex joined Brighton over 8 years ago as a Seasonal Marina Operative before he was taken on permanently as a Marina Host and has been a key part of our berthing team, building on his knowledge and expertise with carrying out marina operations. To reflect his commitment and hard work, Alex is taking on the Senior Marina Operative role, where he will provide additional supervision to the berthing team and take on further responsibilities with providing our customers with first-class service and support.

Big Bear Voyage for Children in Need

We are proud to be sponsoring the Big Bear Voyage 2026 – a UK circumnavigation by Jonathan Brewin, a Universal Marina berth holder, in aid of BBC Children in Need.

The 2,100-mile voyage includes visits at 35 ports and 35 inclusive community walks and events - all with Pudsey Bear at the heart of the challenge and the aim to raise £70,000. Jonathan and his wife Jackie will set sail from Universal Marina in May and will include stops at five other Premier/Boatfolk locations including Weymouth, Dartmouth, Falmouth, Conwy and here at Brighton. To find out more, donate to the cause or follow their journey on Facebook.

You said, we did!

Following your feedback, we have recently invested into upgrading the entrance gates on the East Jetty, providing a much more user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing entrance to your berth. Based on the feedback received after an initial testing period, we will then replicate this same investment and upgrade on the West Jetty. We have also confirmed an investment to replace 12 piles within the marina, to be driven in by Walcon Marine later this year.
