Training A Success At Noss on Dart Marina
As part of ongoing staff training and development at Noss on Dart Marina, Boatyard Operative, Michael Johnson has successfully completed his training as a Slinger and Signaller so he can comprehensively assist the four man boatyard team with boat lifting operations at Noss on Dart.
Coordinated and accredited by external organisation, Trans Plant Mastertrain, the two day training programme has equipped Michael with the relevant skills in slinging and crane lifting operations, which means he is now qualified to guide crane operators by hand and radio signals when lifting boats.
Formerly employed as a seasonal at the marina, Michael was made a permanent member of staff in October 2016 and is enjoying the variety of the job. “We’re a small team here and so one moment we can be working out in the boatyard, then helping customers in reception or even selling gas to berth holders. It’s multi-tasking, however I like the fact that the training never stops. I’ve recently signed up to complete my Powerboat Handling theory and practical through Premier Marinas”.
Andy Osman CMM, General Manager said: “Here at Premier we take training very seriously and at Noss on Dart we continue to invest in our staff so that we can provide safe and professional services to our berth holders and visitors at all times. We run a small but tight ship here at the marina and all staff members are trained to provide the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction”.
