Planned Lock Shutdown at Port Solent Marina

Lock Works to Commence at Port Solent Marina in January 2018

In order to complete necessary lock maintenance, the lock at Port Solent Marina will be closed between 29th January 2018 and 16th February 2018.

This £150,000 project, which occurs every 1-2 years, reduces risk of lock failure. This particular shutdown will be slightly longer than in previous years as Premier Marinas will be servicing and replacing the hydraulic rams, fitting anodes and replacing timbers. Premier will also replacing the bottom bearing of the outer lock gates which requires precision engineering.

To facilitate this work, the lock will be completely drained so no boats will be able to pass through during this time. Please take this into account when planning any trips or winter lifts at the South Coast marina.

Berth holders looking to use their boats during this time are welcome to stay at Gosport Marina or Southsea Marina at no extra cost – subject to berth availability. Please feel free to contact the Port Solent Marina Reception if you have any questions.
