New Boatyard Team at Eastbourne Marina
Our boatyard team at Eastbourne Marina are going from strength to strength. Mike Garrett-West has stepped into the role of Acting Boatyard Supervisor last month whilst Premier Marinas recruited for both the Supervisor and Boatyard Operative roles.
Kevin Watts has now been appointed Boatyard Supervisor; his background is in management and Kevin is a qualified Powerboat and Dinghy instructor. Mike is set to hand over the reins to Kevin in the upcoming weeks.
David Sawyer joined the team on 18th September taking on the role of Boatyard Operative. David was a tree surgeon and has plenty of boating experience as a crew member with Eastbourne Lifeboats.
Kevin and David are already booked out onto various industry training courses, but will be back in the boatyard of the South Coast marina by the end of September, ready for the winter lifting season.
Dan Heckford, Eastbourne Marina Manager, said: “Finding the right person for these technically challenging roles has been quite difficult, especially with the customer service and customer care requirements of a Boatyard Supervisor. I am confident that Kevin has all the attributes and experience needed to deliver a first class boatyard service at Eastbourne. Mike has been invaluable holding the fort in the short term. I am also about to confirm the appointment of our Boatyard Administrator, who will also be qualified to act as the 4th member of the lifting team during the busy periods.”
