Additional Security at Port Solent
Port Solent Marina has recently fitted fan shape security shields to all of its bridgehead gates. This was in response to feedback from berth holders who requested additional security at the bridgeheads in order to prevent unauthorised pontoon access. Whilst there have been very few incidents of inappropriate access over the years, Port Solent Marina is always keen to take its security seriously; alongside key fob access to pontoons and car parks and the physical barriers to accessing the floating marina, security staff patrol the pontoons 24hrs a day and there are at least two members of staff on duty at all times. CCTV is also mounted on every bridgehead and strategically positioned around the marina – this is then viewed on screens by staff in the lock pod.
Mark Phillp CMM, Marina Manager at Port Solent Marina, said, “At Port Solent, safety and security are always at the forefront of our minds because we like to ensure that all our berth holders and visitors feel that they and their boats are secure. The new security around the bridgeheads will help to cement that peace of mind feeling.”
