New Forklift at Falmouth Marina
At the end of January, Falmouth Marina took delivery of a new Mitsubishi FD25N Forklift to assist with boatyard operations. The forklift will help the yard team on a day-to-day basis moving cradles, trailers and offloading items from transport; mechanising more of the team’s tasks. It will also speed up boatyard processes and increase safety around the site for berth holders and the team.
It is hoped that the £23,000 investment in the new forklift will improve the overall efficiency of the Boatyard, especially in the winter months when berth holders are looking to get their boats ashore. Whilst the forklift is small compared to the dry stack forklift, it has a two tonne capacity and will significantly benefit the Falmouth team who are looking forward to making good use of it!
Mark Evans, Marina Manager at Falmouth said, “Our new forklift is a great addition to the boatyard as it will safely mechanise many manual handling tasks that have involved multiple hands in the past.”
