Upgrades to Gosport’s Fuel Berth
This month works to upgrade the fuel berth at Gosport Marina was carried out in a bid to improve our customers’ experience when fuelling up and to also reduce the risk of slippages on the fuel pontoon in the winter months.
Marina Manager, Jonathan Walcroft CMM explained: “In early August we had a period of great weather and so took the opportunity to apply a specialist non-slip surface coating to the fuel pontoon and also work on the speed of fuel delivery of our pump that supplies gas oil (diesel). The upgrade enables high volume users to fill up faster and reduce waiting times. Going forward the upgraded fuel pump allows for fuel to be dispensed at 40 litres per minute compared to the previous 15 litres per minute, which will be a great advantage for those filling up larger vessels."
Representing an investment of £20,000 from Premier Marinas, the works, which were completed in early August were carried out by external contractors MGL.
