A New Face at Gosport Marina
Gosport Marina welcomes Peter Pring as new Duty Manager. Making the transfer from Swanwick Marina, Peter has been employed with Premier Marinas for over 10 years and in that time has worked at Port Solent, Sovereign Harbour and Swanwick Marina and is excited to start his next chapter at Gosport.
In Peter’s own words: “After 4 and a half years at Swanwick Marina I am delighted to be able to learn about another new marina and gain further experience in the marine industry. Having grown up on and around boats in Portsmouth Harbour, including sailing my family’s 34’ Westerly, it’s great to be back here!”
Starting out as a seasonal at Port Solent Marina in 2010, Peter has since worked as a Marina Administrator, Lockmaster, Marina Manager, Harbour Master and Duty Manager, gaining invaluable experience across the different roles and locations of Premier’s marinas.
Peter adds: “I have been in my new role for a couple of weeks now and have enjoyed meeting berth holders and tenants and getting stuck in - hitting the ground running to assist in this year’s maintenance dredging programme was great. I also hope to learn a lot from the extensive service provided by our Endeavour Quay boatyard, to which my responsibilities as Duty Manager extend.”
This year brings a lot of exciting changes for Peter both at work and in his personal life, as he is set to move house this year and is also getting married next month. In his spare time Peter enjoys cycling and is an accomplished trumpet player, having competed at the highest level of championship section brass bands, played in pit bands for musical theatre and enjoys playing regular gigs and events with the Fat Cat Soul Band.
