Introducing our dedicated Dredger Drivers
As part of our ongoing dredging programme at Brighton Marina, we are delighted to introduce our two full-time dedicated Dredging and Maintenance Operatives, Alex Carpenter and Dale Saunders.
Following two years working as a Marina Operative, Alex moved into the role of Dredger and Maintenance Operative from 1st December 2021 and was joined by Dale in February 2022. Both Alex and Dale work 12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off basis and are dedicated to executing Doris’s dredging programme when the weather allows. During the winter periods and when Doris cannot be operated due to weather conditions, Alex and Dale will undertake maintenance projects around the marina and boatyard including painting and pontoon pressure washing.
“It is really great to have two fully dedicated members of staff to manage our internal dredging programme and operate Doris at every opportunity,” says Marina Manager Mike Hatch. “With their roles focused out on the water, both Alex and Dale are both incredibly committed to their work and have already made a huge impact to ensure the naturally deposited material in the marina is reduced.”
The next phase of our ongoing dredging programme at Brighton will recommence in June in line with the renewal of our annual marine dredging licence. Again we will be welcoming the ML Dredging team back to the marina to continue their extensive programme of work.
