Port Solent Welcomes New Marina Staff
Port Solent has had a busy start to the season, with two new members of staff joining the marina team.
Following Kerry Dibdin's planned relocation to Southsea Marina, we are thrilled to welcome Steph Brittain as our new Customer Service Advisor. For the past 11 years Steph has worked in the marine and sailing industry; progressing through the Royal Yachting Association scheme to become a fully qualified Yachtmaster Instructor in 2018.
“I’m looking forward to settling into my new role with Premier Marinas,” says Steph. “Port Solent is beautiful place to be with a lovely friendly team; it has always been one of my favourite marinas to berth as a visitor and I am hoping to bring my enthusiasm and knowledge of sailing to the role.”
We are also pleased to welcome Suhag Moni, a second candidate from the Government's Kickstart Scheme, who joined us in March. As part of his work experience, Suhag has been completing various maintenance tasks around the marina and boatyard, as well as operating the lock control with our Lock Keepers and assisting in boat movements.
"Coming from a non-boating background, Port Solent has been the ideal place for me to learn the ropes of something completely new and gain insight into the inner workings of such a prestigious establishment," Suhag adds. "With a few years of customer service experience behind me, transitioning to the customer-focused environment at Port Solent has been the perfect opportunity to further my skills and advance my career. Being able to do so whilst looking over the gorgeous view of Portsdown Hill and the marina, for me, is the best way to spend my summer.”
