The friendly team at Portland offers a wide range of expertise and experience. Meet a few of the faces ready to help you to make the most of your time on the water.

Tom

Tom Darby-Ralph

Marina Manager

Tom has been working at the marina for over 5 years and has been Marina Manager since April 2024. Tom has a wealth of experience on the water - in a whole range of water sport activities, a keen windsurfer you're likely to see him in the harbour blasting around on the water in his spare time. He has also spent time abroad teaching with Neilson and PGL.  

Sarah

Sarah Killingbeck

Duty Manager

Sarah has been at Portland for over 3 years with a background in hospitality management, she is well equipped to deal with the Portland Marina reception on even the busiest of summer days. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Dorset with her crazy spaniel and spending time on her Dufour 28.

Simon Muldoon

Duty Manager

Simon has a background with many years working on boats in the Mediterranean, from Sunseeker and Princess and now to Portland Marina. In his spare time, he enjoys DJing, spending time with his lovely daughter and enjoying coastal walks. 

Jack

Jack Drummond

Boatyard Manager

Jack is a Portland Marina veteran, having worked here for donkey's years! He has worked his way up from Seasonal Marina Operative to now Boatyard Manager, and proudly manages a team of 4 yard operatives. In Jack's spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, playing darts and singing!

Lucy

Lucy Clarke

Senior Marina Operative 

Lucy has been working at Portland since 2024 after working on a superyacht, doing a med season, crossing the Atlantic and then a Caribbean season. In her spare time, she enjoys sailing on her own boat, a Bavaria 36, spending time walking her dog and having BBQs.

Martin Carter - Marina Operative

Martin is a keen kitesurfer and held the speed record for British kitesurfing! You can frequently see Martin on the pontoons making sure everything is shipshape and always has a smile on his face. 

Josh Weston - Marina Operative 

Josh has been working at Portland Marina since 2022. A true Portland family member, with a keen passion for computer technology, we have no doubt that Josh will soon be writing brand new software that will transform the marine industry.

Haydn Buckinham-Jones - Marina Operative

Haydn has been working at Portland Marina for many years and lives and breathes the marina life. Haydn keeps the marina office laughing with his quick wit and sometimes dodgy jokes. Previously being a powerboat instructor, you'll also see him around towing all sizes of boats within the marina.

David Kirton - Marina Operative

Dave swapped airports for marinas over 3 years ago and has bought organisational skills that he keenly brings to organising rallies of all sizes. A keen chef, he is always there to share recipes and holds the title for king of the BBQ. 

Reece Pell - Boatyard Operative

Reece has been working for the marina for many years helping out with the grounds work and being an amazing all-rounder. He has now taken up a role in the yard team, operating heavy machinery. 

Kieran Ablett - Boatyard Operative

Kieran is a welcoming face in the Boatyard team. With a strong eye for detail, he always ensures that the Boatyard is in it's best state and that Health and Safety is adhered to! In Kieran's spare time he enjoys spending time with his partner and riding his motorbike. 

Mark Rushton - Boatyard Operative

Mark joined the Boatyard in 2024 and has become a core member of the Boatyard team. Outside of work, Mark plays competitive hockey and spends time with his son and dog.

Ryan Shakespeare - Boatyard Operative

Ryan is a new face to the Boatyard team and has quickly settled in. His previous workplace was at Portland Stone, so he's no stranger to heavy machinery.

Michael Coad-Pottow - Night Marina Operative

Michael is no stranger to night shifts having worked for many years as a floor manager at Sainsburys. His bubbly personality brings joy to all visitors arriving during the night and he diligently ensures the safety of all vessels throughout the night. 

Cat Cluskey - Night Marina Operative

Cat is a new member to our team, however has been a valuable addition with bringing experience from working at other marinas on the South Coast and also volunteering with the National Coastwatch Institution.
